Frequently Asked Questions

What impact will it have on our power bill by switching to energy efficient windows?

Originating in 1992, with help from ENERGY STAR®, American businesses and families saved $297 billion on utility bills and prevented more than 2.1 billion metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions by 2013. Every Pella® Product meets or exceeds ENERGY STAR certification in all 50 states and most of Canada. How does this impact you? Not only could you see a drop in your heating and cooling charges, you can help protect the environment.

How much will my replacement door or replacement windows project cost?

Our windows and doors are specifically designed and customized for your home, meaning no two projects are identical. Our wide variety of products make it hard to discuss pricing without first bearing in mind your needs and the project results you envision. Due to this nature, we find it helpful to send out a Pella sales representative who will give you a quoted project price once they have seen the project site itself. To speed up the quoting process, your Pella® sales representative is armed with a computer and a portable printer so that they can give you all the quote information you’ll need—as soon as the sales representative has a chance to consider the requirements of the task and brings them to life with your vision.

In addition to offering a broad variety of high-quality products to choose from, we also have a generous offering of payment and finance options. Pella is uniquely-suited to offer you fantastic window and door products at affordable prices, giving you a chance to make the renovations you want to while building great value into your Southern Pines area home all the while.

Can I paint my vinyl windows?

The benefit of Pella's® vinyl windows is that you won’t have to. You can choose the color your want. We do not recommend painting your vinyl products, as this will terminate your warranty. Some paint manufacturers claim that their paint can stick to vinyl, but it could ruin your windows if the wrong paint is applied or done incorrectly.

What should I use to clean my glass windows?

We advise that you should use a prepackaged vinegar-based cleaning mix or use an ammonia-free glass cleaner such as Windex or Sparkle. You can also make your own with one part vinegar to ten parts water. Apply the solution to a soft, clean microfiber cloth or paper towel. Do not use glass cleaners that are ammonia- or alcohol-based as they have a tendency to leave streaks or create a film that draws moisture and dust.

Do Pella® employees actually install your replacement windows and doors?

Pella uses dependable installers who are certified to install Pella products. We require them to complete a carefully crafted set of training courses so that your windows and doors are properly installed and meet Pella’s strict warranty standards. We look for the best Southern Pines-local people and recruit them to install our projects. Prior to beginning our relationship, Pella requires them to pass a drug test and background check. Our installers are fully protected by liability and workers compensation insurance. Aside from Pella product warranties, your installation is also covered for 10 years under the installation limited warranty and service agreement.

What's different about buying replacement windows and doors from local Pella® showrooms versus buying from retailers like Lowe’s?

Your local Pella branch provides services and support that “big box” stores can’t provide. Our staff is made up of professionals whose expertise is in selling, installing, and servicing Pella Windows & Doors. Using a dedicated Pella sales team, project manager, local service technicians, and expert installers means that your project will have the strength of our whole team. We commonly use the term “single source accountability”, meaning that there’s no one to chase down regarding a product, installation, or warranty issue. Simply contact our office, your sales representative, or our project manager with any questions or concerns you may have and we will get to work resolving the issue.

Why is Pella® the right choice for my home?

There are several important reasons why Southern Pines homeowners choose Pella for their replacement window and door needs. Founded in 1925, Pella is privately-held. Our success depends upon customer satisfaction, not stock prices. All of our high quality windows and doors are produced with care and serviced by Pella’s qualified Direct Sales Network. Unlike many of our competitors who sell exclusively through third-party channels, Pella has dedicated windows & door design centers the U.S. and Canada. This unique way of operating our business gives our customers in Southern Pines a warm, personal experience with the backing of a local to Southern Pines, Pella-certified team. Whether you are looking for the beauty of wood, the strength of fiberglass, or the low maintenance of vinyl—Pella has a top quality, energy efficient and durable solution.
